New London Show for Kate Enters - Is The Grass Greener?
First London solo exhibition
Dreamvault, 36 Great Titchfield St, W1W 8BQ
28th – 30th May 2009
Kate Enters graduated in Fine Art Painting from Norwich School of Art in 2000. Since then she has worked in the field of PR for the arts, charity and events whilst continuing to paint. March 2009 saw the launch of woppit.co.uk - a commercial venture to support her art objectives and she is now ready to have her first solo show in London.
The collection’s influences stem from nostalgia for the post war era and Kate’s paintings evoke a strong response to the aesthetic. The 1950’s style of typography sitting next to contemporary issues and images is a contrast used to great effect. A collection of 18 works will be shown at the exhibition. The paintings are inspired by a recent trip to Tuscany and evoke a quieter pace of life than the hectic whirl of today. They bring back an era of old time movies, adverts and the quainter things in life.
Kate’s work is not aimed to please the art fraternity but to provoke thought. She believes passionately that her collection has social impact and a more open commercial appeal.
DreamVault features a large reception area with atrium and skylight window, a flexible event space and outside courtyard garden. Dreamvault is an ideal blank canvas white space venue. Kate believes it is important not to be aligned to a gallery at this stage in her career.
Kate aims to sell enough pieces to start a new collection of works for exhibition in New York.
Gallery interest will be welcome once the initial feedback and monitoring of success is recorded.
